This white paper provides guidance about capacity management, performance, and data protection for SharePoint environments that have large content databases.
- Managing large content databases with SharePoint 2010 requires careful planning and consideration, including capacity management, performance, and data protection. This white paper provides an overview of managing content databases in three size ranges: up to 200 GB, 200 GB - 4 TB, and above 4 TB. For all ranges, the size includes both structured data (that is, metadata) and unstructured data (that is, BLOBs) both in the database and/or externalized to the file system.
