eGovernment Interoperability Frameworks
A key element to realizing eGovernment’s transformative potential is the concept of interoperability – the connecting of diverse data, systems, people and processes. Effective interoperability at the technical, semantic, and operational levels enables governments to focus on the policy and legal issues that must be resolved so that different government entities can work together. Effective interoperability also allows governments the choice to combine hardware, software, and services for new systems that will meet their objectives, as well as the confidence that new technology purchased today will connect to existing infrastructure.
