Live Communications Server 2005 Document: Enterprise Pools and Windows 2003 Network Load Balancing |
This document describes the steps required to configure Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Load Balancing for a Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 deployment.
This document describes the steps needed to configure Windows Server 2003 Network Load Balancing (NLB) for a Live Communications Server 2005 deployment.
Live Communications Server 2005 Enterprise Edition supports high availability by allowing multiple Enterprise Edition servers to run as part of a server pool against a back-end Microsoft SQL Server™ database. Client requests need to be directed to the appropriate Enterprise Edition server to help ensure that the load is balanced evenly across the Enterprise Edition servers. This can be accomplished with a hardware load balancer or by using NLB for scaling servers.
