Supported operating systems: Apple Macintosh

To use MSN Messenger for Mac version 2.5.1, your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:
Processor: Macintosh Power PC
Operating system: Mac OS 9.2.2
Memory: 24 MB of RAM
Hard disk: 3 MB of available hard disk space
Programs: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1.7 or later, or Netscape Navigator 4.0 or later
Modem: 28.8 Kbps or higher
Internet access: Internet connection through either an Internet service provider (ISP) or a network. Internet access might require a fee to an ISP; local or long-distance telephone charges might also apply.

Tip If you're not sure whether your computer meets these requirements, see the Apple System Profiler program included with the Mac OS. You can start Apple System Profiler by clicking Apple System Profiler on the Apple menu.

Before you install this download:

• Quit any other programs that are running, including virus-protection
  programs, because they might interfere with installation.


• Make sure the user account you use to log on to your computer is an
  administrator account. For more information about administrator accounts,
  see Mac Help.


• Make sure that your Mac OS language setting matches the language version
  of MSN Messenger that you are using. For information about changing your Mac
  OS language setting, see Mac Help.


• Make sure Aladdin Systems StuffIt Expander version 6 or later is installed
  on your computer. If an earlier version of StuffIt Expander is installed on
  your computer, you might not be able to install this download.

1. On the desktop, double-click macmsgs.bin.


2. Double-click Install Messenger 2.5.1 and follow the instructions.


3. Double-click MSN Messenger.


4. Read the terms of the Microsoft End-User License Agreement (EULA) and, if you accept these terms, click Accept.


5. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish installation.

1. Quit any programs that are running.


2. Move the MSN Messenger application to the Trash. On the Finder menu, click Empty Trash.
