Your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:
Operating system: Mac OS 8.1 to 9.x
Hard disk: 28 MB of available hard disk space temporarily required to complete installation.

Tip   If you're not sure whether your computer meets these requirements, you can display information about your computer by using the Apple System Profiler program included with the Mac OS. To start the program, click Apple System Profiler on the Apple menu.

To use all of the features available in Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac Security Update (9.0.5), we recommend that you also have access to the Internet through either an Internet service provider (ISP) or a network.

• Quit any other programs that are running, including virus-protection programs, because they might interfere with installation.
• Make sure Aladdin Systems StuffIt Expander version 5.5 or later is installed on your computer. If an earlier version of StuffIt Expander is installed on your computer, you might not be able to install this update.

1. Print this page if you want to use it as a reference when you are offline.
2. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for this update.
3. In the table below, click the file format you want.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to save the file to your hard disk.
   If you are using Internet Explorer, the Download Manager saves the file to the desktop unless you specified a different download folder on the Download Options pane in the Preferences dialog box.
5. On your hard disk, double-click the file that you downloaded in step 4 to expand it.
   Depending on the Web browser that you are currently using, this step might be performed for you automatically.
6. Double-click the Office 2001 9.0.5 Update icon to start the setup program and then follow the instructions on the screen.
7. If you use Office Reminders, start Word 2001 or Entourage 2001 after the installation has been completed so that you will continue to receive your reminders.

The Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac Security Update (9.0.5) does not include an uninstall feature. To restore your Office 2001 programs to their original state, delete them from your hard disk, and then reinstall them from your Office 2001 CD-ROM.
