Windows Installer Merge Modules provide customers with packaged forms of the redistributable files in Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual 6.0 C++ (SP6) for use with Windows Installer.

  • Windows Installer Merge Modules provide customers with packaged forms of the redistributable files in Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual 6.0 C++ (SP6) for use with Windows Installer. These Merge Modules can be used with Visual Studio Installer, InstallShield for Windows Installer, Wise, and other setup authoring tools. The Merge Modules are required when using Windows Installer to redistribute the latest versions of the DLLs in SP6.

    The Windows Installer Merge Modules are localized into English, German and Japanese.

Installation Instructions

  • Windows Installer Merge Modules Download

    Note: It is recommended that customers have Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0 and Visual 6.0 C++ installed prior to downloading the Windows Installer Merge Modules.


    • Before starting the download, create a download directory on your computer.
    • Click the link to begin downloading. When prompted by the download software, choose the option Save this program to disk and click OK. Then select the directory you created on your computer.
    • Run the file from the download directory. When prompted, select the same directory you created on your computer. You will be expanding the contents of the EXE into this directory.
