The BizTalk 2004 Adapter for MSMQ provides support for sending and receiving messages using MSMQ 2.0 and 3.0, and takes advantage of the new features in MSMQ 3.0. Major features of the adapter include support for:

• MSMQ 2.0 and 3.0
• Multi-threading option for faster performance
• Guaranteed delivery when using transactional queues
• Reading from remote non-transactional queues
• Dynamic send ports
• Support for messages up to 2 Gigabytes in size

The minimum software requirements for an installation of Microsoft® BizTalk® 2004 Adapter for MSMQ on a single computer include the following:

• Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004

Note: Although it is not required, it is strongly recommended that you install Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, Service Pack 1. • Microsoft Windows® Message Queuing 2.0 or Message Queuing 3.0

Note: Make sure the Message Queuing service is started after you install it.
Important: BizTalk 2004 Adapter for MSMQ is not compatible with BizTalk Server 2000 or BizTalk Server 2002.

1. Download BizTalk 2004 AdapterforMSMQ.exe.

Note: It is recommended that you copy this file to the local hard disk drive of the computer on which you plan to install the adapter.

Note: You must log on to the local computer as a member of the Administrators group.

Note: The folder you specify must be permanent, because Setup must locate the installation folder and files when you add or remove features or update the software.

When the files are fully extracted, the WinZip Self-Extractor dialog box is displayed to indicate that the files were unzipped successfully. If this message does not appear, you may have a corrupted download file.

It is recommended that you click the Readme.htm file and read the Readme.
To install BizTalk 2004 Adapter for MSMQ:

1. In the installation folder where you extracted the setup files, double-click Setup.exe.


2. Click Install Microsoft BizTalk 2004 Adapter for MSMQ on this computer to start the installation wizard.


3. On the Welcome page, click Next.


4. On the End User License Agreement page, review the license agreement, and then click I accept the terms of the End User License Agreement to continue.


5. Type your information on the User Information page, and then click Next.


6. Specify a target installation path, and then click Next.


7. Click Install.


8. When the installation wizard completes successfully, click Finish.
