HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 1 upgrades HPC Pack 2012 R2 clusters and can be used for new Window HPC cluster installations. It provides improved reliability as well as an enhanced feature set for Windows Azure integration, job scheduling, and cluster management.

The following downloads are available:- HPC2012R2_Update1_amd64.exe / HPC2012R2_Update1_i386.exe : Download these updaters to upgrade your exisiting HPC Pack 2012 R2 head nodes, compute nodes, broker nodes, client computers, workstation nodes, and unmanaged server nodes. Please install the appropriate updater for the CPU architecture on computers that have already had HPC Pack 2012 R2 components installed.
- HPC2012R2_Update1_Full.zip : Download this .zip file to have a full installation package to set up an HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 1 cluster. It also contains the Web Components (REST interface and Web Portal) and KSP (soft card) installers necessary to use those features. If you install this package on an existing HPC Pack node, please uninstall existing HPC Pack 2012 R2 components first.

System Requirements
Operating Systems: Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2
- The following system requirements apply to both a full installation of HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 1 and to upgrade an existing HPC Pack 2012 R2 cluster.
HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 1 supported operating systems - Head nodes: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or Datacenter, Windows Server 2012 Standard or Datacenter
- Compute nodes: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or Datacenter, Windows Server 2012 Standard or Datacenter, or x64-based versions of Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, or HPC Edition
- Broker nodes: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or Datacenter, Windows Server 2012 Standard or Datacenter
- Workstation nodes: Windows 8.1 Pro or Enterprise, Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise, Windows 7 Professional or Enterprise
- Unmanaged server nodes: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or Datacenter, Windows Server 2012 Standard, Datacenter, or Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, or HPC Edition
- Client computers: Windows 8.1 Pro or Enterprise, Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise, Windows 7 Professional or Enterprise, Windows Vista; Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard or Datacenter, Windows Server 2012 Standard, Datacenter, or Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, or HPC Edition
Additional notes:
CPU: x64 architecture computer, except for workstation nodes and client computers, which may run x86-based or x64-based processors
RAM: 1 GB
Multiprocessor support: HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 1 can address up to 64 cores on a single machine, if the operating system supports it.
Minimum disk space for setup: 50 GB
Network interface card: At least one network interface card (NIC) is required. Additional NICs may be required depending on the selected network topology.
Installation Instructions
- When upgrading from HPC Pack 2012 R2, the updater needs to be run on all nodes and client computers.
