• 1.6 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB of RAM (1.5 GB if running on a virtual machine)
• 8.5 GB of available hard disk space
• 5400 RPM hard disk drive
• DirectX 9-capable video card that runs at 1024 x 768 or higher display resolution

• For Windows Phone development:
• Windows Phone 8.0 development requires Windows 8.1 (x64) or higher
• Windows Phone 8.1 development requires Windows 8.1 (x86) or higher
• For the Windows Phone emulators, Windows 8.1 (x64) Professional edition or higher, and a processor that supports Client Hyper-V and Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)

If your computer meets the operating system requirements but does not meet the hardware requirements for the Windows Phone Emulators, the Windows Phone development tools will install and run. However, the Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1 Emulators will not function and you must use a device to deploy or test Windows Phone apps.

Choose one of these installation options:

• Install over the Internet:
• On this page, choose the Download button.
• Select the .exe option and then choose the Next button.
• To install now, choose the Run button.
• To download an installer that you can run later, choose the Save button. (When you install, the computer must be connected to the Internet.)
• You can download a copy of the product layout and install now, or you can install later without contacting the Internet. After download, you can also copy and paste the layout to another location. For most cases, we recommend this option instead of an ISO image:
• On this page, choose the Download button.
• Select the .exe option and then choose the Next button.
• Choose the Save button.
• Once the download is complete, open a command prompt, navigate to the download location, and run VS2013.4.exe /layout.
• Specify where to download the files and click the Download button.
• Once downloaded, you can run VS2013.4.exe from the download location to install the update.
• If you have a download manager that can handle a large file, you can download an ISO image directly:
• Choose this download link, and then choose the Save button.
• After downloading the ISO file, you should use the File Checksum Integrity Verifier tool to calculate and verify that the SHA-1 value for this file matches the value listed on the Visual Studio 2013 ISO Files SHA-1 Values page.
