Windows XP Common Criteria User Guide |
This document is the Microsoft Windows XP Evaluated Configuration User Guide that was used in the completion of the Windows XP and Server 2003 Common Criteria Evaluation.
This guide provides sufficient guidance to allow a non-administrative (e.g. non-privileged) user to securely operate Windows XP Professional and Windows XP Embedded in accordance with the requirements stated in the Windows 2003/XP Common Criteria (CC) Security Target (ST). Although most operating system references in this document refer to Windows XP Professional, all operations defined in this document do apply to the Evaluated Configuration of both, Window XP Professional and Windows XP Embedded.
The Windows 2003/XP CC ST, henceforth referred to as the Windows 2003/XP ST, provides a set of security requirements taken from the CC for Information Technology (IT) Security Evaluation. The Windows XP Professional and Embedded products were evaluated against the Windows 2003/XP ST and found to satisfy the ST requirements.
This guide is specifically targeted at the non-administrative (e.g. non-privileged) user of Windows XP Professional.
