• 1.6 GHz or faster processor
• 1 GB of RAM (1.5 GB if running on a virtual machine)
• 8.5 GB of available hard disk space
• 5400 RPM hard disk drive
• DirectX 9-capable video card that runs at 1024 x 768 or higher display resolution

• For Windows Phone 8.0 development:
• Windows 8.0 (x64) Professional edition or higher
• For the Windows Phone emulators, a processor that supports Client Hyper-V and Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)
• For Windows Phone 8.1 development:
• Windows 8.1 (x86) or higher
• For the Windows Phone emulators, Windows 8.1 (x64) Professional edition or higher, and a processor that supports Client Hyper-V and Second Level Address Translation (SLAT)

If your computer meets the operating system requirements but does not meet the hardware requirements for the Windows Phone emulators, the Windows Phone development tools will install and run, but the Windows Phone 8.0 and 8.1 emulators will not work. However, you can still test your Windows Phone apps on actual devices.

On this page, choose the Download button.
Choose one of these installation options:

• Install over the Internet:
• On this page, choose the Download button.
• Select the .exe option and then choose the Next button.
• To install now, choose the Run button.
• To download an installer that you can run later, choose the Save button. (When you install, the computer must be connected to the Internet.)
• Download the Product Layout for Offline Installation:
• This will enable you to download a complete local copy to your computer. You can run Setup later without contacting the Internet, or you can copy and paste the installation layout in another location.
• On this page, choose the Download button.
• Select the .exe option and then choose the Next button.
• Choose the Save button.
• Once the download is complete, open a command prompt, navigate to the download location, and run VS2013.2.exe /layout.
• Specify where to download the files and click the Download button.
• Once downloaded, you can run VS2013.2.exe from the download location to install the update.
• If you have a download manager that can handle a large file, you can download the ISO image directly.
• To download the image so that you can burn a DVD, or mount it on a virtual drive, choose the Save button.
• The CRC and SHA1 hash values of your downloaded ISO image should match these:
• CRC: DFB36AB9
• SHA-1: 1A1C6846F64EDB376A3024C911723647179800AA
• To calculate the hash value, you can use the File Checksum Integrity Verifier tool.
