  • The Contoso catalog app provides a tile-based interface for browsing and managing categories and products. This provider-hosted app runs as a Windows Azure Web Site, reads and writes to an SQL Azure database, and uses the SharePoint .NET client object model.
  • The Contoso event coordinator app lets event planners add events and related items to a SharePoint calendar. This provider-hosted app runs as a Windows Azure web role in a cloud service and reads and writes to an SQL Azure database. It also uses the SharePoint .NET client object model, Windows Azure BLOB storage and the Bing Maps API.
  • The Contoso incubator search app searches across SharePoint and the web, and lets you tag themed results for easy access. This SharePoint-hosted app uses JavaScript, jQuery, the SharePoint JavaScript object model, the SharePoint Search REST API, and the Windows Azure Marketplace Bing Search API.
