Legacy Update: Get back online, activate, and install updates on your legacy Windows PC

This download is Remote Tools for Visual Studio 2013 and contains the latest updates, including feature additions and bug fixes. For information about the latest update, see Visual Studio Updates and the Visual Studio Update KB Article.

The Remote Tools are intended for computers that don't have Visual Studio so that you can debug, test, and profile apps that are executing on them. Visual Studio must be installed on the development computer that's connected to, or uses the data collected from, the computers that are running the remote tools. Connecting to the remote debugger and profiler that are included in the Remote Tools for Visual Studio 2013 is supported in Visual Studio Ultimate 2013, Visual Studio Premium 2013, Visual Studio Professional 2013, Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows, and Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows Desktop.

Connection to the test features in the Remote Tools requires Visual Studio Ultimate 2013 or Visual Studio Test Professional 2013.

The Remote Tools also enable the installation of a developer license, and the deployment and the performance profiling of Windows apps on computers that are running Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.
