Internet Explorer 10 supports CSS3 Hyphenation, enabling developers to build great looking sites designed for reading. To enable Internet Explorer 10 to hyphenate text with the best possible linguistic fidelity, users may need to install language-specific hyphenation dictionaries.
When developers build sites for Internet Explorer 10, they may choose to use CSS3 Hyphenation to break text across multiple lines using language-appropriate word breaking rules. Many languages have many specific rules that describe how words should be broken across lines of text. On pages that enable CSS3 hyphenation users may need to install a language-specific hyphenation dictionary to enable Internet Explorer 10 to hyphenate text most appropriately.
These dictionaries collect together the general rules to apply for a given language as well as identifying common words that represent exceptions to those rules.
