Microsoft SQL Azure Labs Privacy Statement
Last updated: August 2011
Microsoft® SQL Azure Labs platform is a place where we test concept ideas and prototypes. The projects in labs are experiments with no current plans to be included in a product and are not production quality. Instead it is a place where we want to share our current thinking and ideas in specific areas and solicit your feedback so we can shape our future direction.

Labs Service Features and Privacy Choice:
Customer acknowledges and understands that some privacy-impacting features of the Labs Services differ from those of Microsoft’s commercial versions of online services. Customer affirms that it has obtained or will obtain any required consents from data subjects who may participate in Customer’s use of the Labs Services. Customer must not allow personal data to be collected in jurisdictions or industries where the Labs Services attributes described herein would make such use contrary to applicable law.
Some Labs Services attributes may result in users on Customer’s account being able to view personal data of other users in Customer’s account without notice, permission, logging or reporting. These include, but are not limited to: (a) social collaboration features, such as social tagging, My Sites, or activity feeds that share personal information, or (b) customer experience improvement analytics data being collected by and sent from users’ web browsers.
Some privacy enhancing features present in Microsoft’s commercial versions of online services are automatically disabled for the Labs Services including, but not limited to: (x) logging of administrative access to personal data, such as entry by Customer’s administrators into user’s Exchange mailboxes, or (y) limitations on transfer of personal data across international borders.
The Labs Services may employ lesser or different security measures than those present in Microsoft’s existing commercial versions of online services or expected to be present in future commercial versions of the online services. Without limiting the foregoing, security disclosures or independent security certifications applicable to existing commercial versions of the online services do not apply to the Labs Services.
Communications.
The purpose of Labs Services offering is to obtain feedback regarding potential commercial versions of the services.
The administrative and/or billing contact information provided in connection with the Services may be used to contact Customer or its representatives about its subscription, its opinions about the Labs Services, or its interest in continuing the account after commercial release of the services.
Microsoft is committed to protecting the security of your information. We maintain technical and organizational measures designed to provide and enable security for the Service. This includes a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the information you provide on computer systems with limited access, which are located in controlled facilities.
