HPC Pack 2008 R2 SP2 Fix for Changing Job Preemption Policy

  • Published:
  • Version: 3.2.3735
  • Category: Update
  • Language: English

This update modifies the behavior of the HPC Job Scheduler's 'Preemption Policy'

The standard HPC Pack 2008 R2 job preemption policy in queued mode will cancel an entire job in order to allocate a higher priority job. After applying this update the cluster administrator has the option to change the policy so that only individual tasks are cancelled by setting the cluscfg parameter 'TaskImmediatePreemptionEnabled' to 'true'
