Cisco Network Admission Control and Microsoft Network Access Protection Interoperability Architecture |
This white paper describes the interoperability architecture that allows customers to deploy both the Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP) platform in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and the Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) version 4.2, a component of Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC).
Cisco Systems®, Inc. and Microsoft® Corporation have developed an interoperability architecture that allows customers to deploy both the Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP) platform in Microsoft Windows Server® 2008 and the Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) version 4.2, a component of Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC).The result is a set of components that interoperate, allowing customers to enforce health requirements for network access using a combination of components from Cisco and Microsoft. This white paper describes the set of characteristics that will support the interoperability architecture and how the interoperability architecture works. The NAP-NAC architecture does not offer interoperability between the Microsoft NAP platform and the Cisco NAC Appliance (formerly known as Clean Access).
