The Speech API (SAPI) Universal Phone Set is a machine-readable phone set based on the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). We have provided the Universal Phone Set as a merge module that vendors can distribute with their SAPI 5.x compliant applications and engines.

We have provided the Universal Phone Set as a merge module that vendors can distribute with their SAPI 5.x compliant applications and engines. By installing the Universal Phone Set with your application or engine, the developer can support languages beyond those provided by default in SAPI 5.1.

If you want to download a merge module containing Universal Phone Set and Traditional Chinese phone set to integrate into an installation file (msi) for development purposes, download the Traditional Chinese and Universal Phone Sets merge module file (SpPhones.exe).
