The Microsoft Presence Sample for Managed Applications illustrates how to display presence status and provide real-time collaboration options in smart client applications using the Automation API provided by Microsoft Office Communicator 2007.
The Microsoft Presence Sample for Managed Applications includes two managed code user controls to display presence status and provide real-time collaboration options in .NET applications leveraging the Automation API provided by Microsoft Office Communicator 2007.
One control presents an interactive presence icon next to a control on a form that contains a name. The second control is derived from a ListView control to display the presence status icon next to names in a list. Both controls provide tooltips with contact card details, a context menu, and events for contact status changes.

Installation Instructions
- Download the file by clicking the Download button (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
- Double-click the downloaded program file on your hard disk to begin installation.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
To uninstall this download
- On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the list of currently installed programs, select Microsoft Presence Sample For Rich Clients using Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 Automation API and then click Remove or Add/Remove. If a dialog box appears, follow the instructions to remove the program.
- Click Yes or OK to confirm that you want to remove the program.
