This update removes an error observed when working in the Works 8 Spreadsheet or Works 8 Database
Users may see an error while working in the Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet or Microsoft Works 8 Database on a Windows Vista or Windows XP SP2 computer:
Microsoft Works 8 has stopped working
Prior to seeing this error message, user may have attempted doing one of the following in the Microsoft Works 8 Spreadsheet or Microsoft Works 8 Database:
o opening a file
o previewing a file
o printing a file
o formatting a file
This issue occurs because of an unexpected memory allocation failure in Works 8.

This update applies to Works 8.5. To check the Works version installed on your machine:
1. Start any of the Works applications on your machine:
o Works Word Processor
o Works Spreadsheet
o Works Database
o Works Calendar
2. Click the Help menu, then click on the About Microsoft Works item.
3. Verify the version number in the About Microsoft Works dialog is 8.5
Installation Instructions
1. Download the file by clicking the Download button (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
2. Double-click the KB933828.msp file on your hard disk to start the Setup program.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation
