The Access 2002 Runtime Security Patch: KB827430 offers the highest levels of stability and security available for Microsoft Access 2002 Runtime. This update addresses a flaw in the Microsoft Access Snapshot Viewer that could allow arbitrary code to run when viewing a maliciously crafted document. This update resolves the vulnerability so that Microsoft Access Snapshot Viewer files are handled appropriately.
Further, this update addresses a flaw in the way Microsoft Office uses Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to check document properties when opening a maliciously crafted document. This flaw could allow arbitrary code to run when a user opened a specially crafted document from an attacker. This update addresses that vulnerability so that files opened using VBA are handled appropriately.

- Microsoft Windows Installer version 2.0 or later. Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 and Microsoft Windows XP include this version of the Windows Installer. Otherwise, the latest version of Windows Installer is available as a separate download at the following links:
Installation Instructions
- Download the file by clicking the Download button (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
- Double-click the officexp-runtime-kb827430-client-enu.exe.exe program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
