Office 2000 Add-in: Web Archive

The Microsoft Office 2000 Web Archive add-on allows you to save a Web page as a single file, including all of the graphics on the page, in Office 2000 and later versions.

The Microsoft Office 2000 Web Archive add-on allows you to save a Web page as a single file, including all of the graphics on the page, by using the MIME HTML Internet standard. This is especially useful if you save your Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office XP, or Microsoft Office 2003 documents as Web pages, since most of the Microsoft Office programs save Web pages as multiple files. Packing your Microsoft Office documents with the Web Archive add-on helps to avoid errors if you try to send the Web page to someone else. By using Web Archive, you can easily send the Web page as one file via e-mail or save the Web page for offline viewing. You can also unpack a Web Archive if you need to restore an archive to its original state.

Additional information about using the Web archive add-on will be available at a later date.

Note  To use the Web Archive add-on - either to archive, view, or restore archived Web pages - you must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later and Microsoft Outlook® Express installed. You do not, however, need to use Outlook Express to e-mail archive files; it must be installed, though.
