SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition (SQL Server CE) version 1.1 is the compact database for rapidly developing applications that extend enterprise data management capabilities to devices.

Companies and users of SQL Server CE that have upgraded SQL Server 2000 database and publisher servers to the Service Pack 3 (SP3) release or Service Pack 3a (SP3a) release should also update the server replication components on servers running Internet Information Services (IIS).

This release of SQL Server CE Server Tools updates the servers running IIS to support connectivity solutions to SQL Server 2000 SP3 or SP3a databases.

• 45 MB of available hard disk space. (An additional 45 MB of space must be also available for temporary setup files.)

Important: You do not need to apply sqlce11sql2ksp3a.exe if the computer running SQL Server is the same as the one running IIS and it did have SQL Server CE tools installed on it before it began running the SQL Server 2000 SP3 or SP3a update, because sqlce11sql2ksp3a.exe does not contain any updates for the SQL Server CE server agent dynamic-link library (DLL).

If you have previously installed SQL Server CE Server Tools for SQL Server 2000 SP1, SP2, or SP3, this download will not change the security settings on any configured SQL Server CE Server Agent .DLLs.
