BizTalk Server 2004 SP1 contains a collection of hotfixes, security fixes, and performance enhancements. Before installing BizTalk Server 2004 SP1, it is recommended that you carefully review the documentation located in the Related Resources section to the right.

BizTalk Server 2004 SP1 addresses a variety of customer scenarios and contains a collection of hotfixes, security fixes and fixes for performance and stress.  Microsoft recommends that all BizTalk Server 2004 customers deploy SP1 across all editions of BizTalk Server to ensure their implementations are up to date.

IMPORTANT: BizTalk Server 2004 SP1 is not compatible with BizTalk Server 2002 and BizTalk Server 2000 systems.
Please be sure to read and review the SP1 documentation before installing SP1.

1. BizTalk Server 2004 must be installed before installing SP1.


2. Please see the SP1 documentation available from this page for a full list of system requirements

• Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 is required on all platforms (Windows XP/2000 or Windows Server 2003)
• BizTalk Server 2004 SP1 Update for .NET Framework 1.1 is required on all platforms (Windows XP/2000 or Windows Server 2003).
• Windows XP Service Pack 2 is required on the Windows XP platform

1. Click the Download link to start the download
2. Click Run to run the program directly from the install location
3. Enter c:/BizTalkServer2004SP1 or another folder path if you prefer.

Note: Two files will be extracted to this folder:
    • ReadmeSP1.htm
    • BTS2004-SP1-ENU.exe.


4. Run BTS2004-SP1-ENU.exe from the designated folder.

Note: This will extract files to a folder named BTS2004-SP1 within the same directory and launch setup automatically.
