Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) 2010 with Service Pack One (SP1) Evaluation Version |
Forefront UAG with SP1 provides secure remote access to corporate resources from a diverse range of managed and unmanaged client devices. The Forefront UAG with SP1 Evaluation Version provided in this download is appropriate for IT professionals who want to evaluate Forefront UAG in a corporate environment.
You are required to register before downloading this evaluation software. A Windows Live ID is required for registration. If you do not have a Windows Live ID, you can obtain one on the registration page.
Note the following when deploying this Evaluation Version:
• Except for the limited trial period, functionality of the Evaluation Version is the same as the full version
• Forefront UAG updates and fixes can be installed on the Evaluation Version
• To verify whether you are using an evaluation version of Forefront UAG, click About Forefront UAG in the Help menu of the Forefront UAG Management console, and verify whether the word Evaluation appears in the version information.
• The trial period for the evaluation version is approximately 120 days. To check how much time remains until the Evaluation Version expires, run the Uagver.exe command line tool. This tool is provided in the evaluation .iso, and is located in the root installation folder.
• The Evaluation Version is installed in the same manner as the full version. For installation instructions, see Installing Forefront UAG 2010 in the TechNet library.
The following downloads are included on this page:
• Forefront UAG with SP1 Evaluation Version installation file (UAG2010_WSP1_ENU_EVAL.iso) — Run this file to install the evaluation version of Forefront UAG with SP1.
• Forefront UAG SP1 administrator help file (UAG_Help.zip)—This zipped file provides an up-to-date version of the administrator help (.chm) file for Forefront UAG SP1. We recommend that you copy the file to each Forefront UAG server to ensure that you have the latest help version. To do this, extract the UAG_Help.chm file from the zip file, and after installing SP1, save the file in the …\Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway\common\help folder.
• DirectAccess Connectivity Assistant end-user help file (DCA1_5_Help.zip)—This zip files contains an end-user help file that can be distributed to client computers running DirectAccess Connectivity Assistant (DCA) 1.5. The zip file contains the document in all languages supported by DCA 1.5.
In addition to product features and functionality, Forefront UAG with SP1 provides the following:
• Trace files—Trace files for the SP1 update can be obtained from Forefront UAG tracing symbols.
• DCA 1.5—SP1 contains the setup file (Microsoft_DirectAccess_Connectivity_Assistant.msi) required to deploy the DCA 1.5 client application on Forefront UAG DirectAccess clients who connect to DirectAccess servers running Forefront UAG with SP1. After installing SP1, the .msi file is located on the Forefront UAG server, in the Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway\common\bin\da\dca folder, or in an alternate installation path.
Note the following:
• For information about deploying DCA, see Installing the DirectAccess Connectivity Assistant on Microsoft TechNet.
• When you install DCA 1.5, the .msi file runs in English. After Setup, the DCA user interface appears on the end-user computer in the language specified by the operating system.
• DirectAccess clients can get information about the DCA 1.5 application from Using the DirectAccess Connectivity Assistant (DCA) 1.5 on Microsoft TechNet.

• Minimum 4 gigabytes (GB) of memory
• 2.5 GB of available hard disk space (in addition to Windows requirements)
• Two network adapters.
Installation Instructions
Download the .iso file and do one of the following:
• Extract the .iso file, and run Setup from the Forefront UAG folder
• Burn the .iso file to a DVD, and install Forefront UAG using autorun.
• Join the .iso file to a Hyper-V server as media, and run Setup from the Forefront UAG folder.
