DPM Configuration Analyzer is a diagnostic tool that verifies configuration settings on your Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007.
The DPM Configuration Analyzer (DPMCA) is a diagnostic tool you can use to evaluate important configuration settings on DPM 2007 servers. The tool scans hardware and software configurations of the DPM servers you specify, evaluates them against a set of predefined rules, and provides you with best practice suggestions that can make your DPM experience more optimal.
You can install the DPMCA on any computer, and remotely scan a set of DPM Servers specified, with a specific user credential.
Note: The DPMCA does not duplicate or replace the prerequisite checks performed during the setup of DPM 2007 Server or its components.

System Requirements

Before you install the DPMCA, you must download and install either the 32 or the 64-bit version of Microsoft Baseline Configuration Analyzer (MBCA). To download, go to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=123061&clcid=0x409.
Note: To scan a remote computer, ensure that a firewall on the remote computer is not blocking Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) communication or the service control manager (SCM), known as Remote Service Management in the Windows Vista operating system, and that the WMI service is running on the remote computer.
Installation Instructions
1. On the computer you wish to install the DPMCA (either a DPM server or any other computer), install Microsoft Baseline Configuration Analyzer (MBCA) from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=123061&clcid=0x409.
2. Click Download on this page to download the DPM2007ConfigurationAnalyzer.msi file.
3. Post download, double-click the DPM2007ConfigurationAnalyzer.msi file and then follow the steps in the Setup Wizard.
4. After the DPMCA install, double-click on tool’s icon on your desktop and use the simple user interface to enter the name of DPM servers for scanning. After the scan is complete, DPMCA would automatically open the report in your browser.
