HPC Pack 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 |
SP2 has been released, SP1 is a prereq. Please see the 'Description' for a link to the SP2 download.
- This is a pre-requisite to installing HPC Pack 2008 R2 Service Pack 2, which is available at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0fbdb867-c3ac-46c5-9311-98be0e461fc3
This service pack updates the HPC Pack 2008 R2 products listed in the 'System Requirements' section. It provides improved reliability as well as an enhanced feature set including:
Windows Azure integration - you can now add Azure nodes to your cluster!
Workstation Node idleness detection - you can now update Workstation Node availability templates to include user-activity and CPU-load thresholds.
Mark 'Critical' Tasks - you can now mark certain tasks as 'critical' and if they fail the entire job will be marked as 'failed.'
Note: This update does not support 'uninstallation.' Once installed attempting to remove it will completely remove the HPC Pack 2008 R2 software. We suggest initial testing be done on a non-production system, and that a system backup be performed prior to installing the service pack.
