Updated 40- or 56-Bit Encryption Provider for Outlook 2000 SR-1 |
If you are using 40-or 56-bit security encryption in Microsoft Outlook 2000, you need this updated dynamic-link library (DLL) if you install Outlook 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1).
This update contains an improved version of the Exchcsp.dll, which
provides encryption services to Microsoft Outlook® 2000. The
dynamic-link library (DLL) in this update contains improvements
specifically for use with Outlook 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1) with
40-bit or 56-bit security encryption. If you are using 128-bit security
encryption, see Updated 128-Bit Encryption Provider for Outlook 2000 SR-1.
To determine whether you are using 40-bit or 56-bit encryption, do the
following:
- Start Outlook 2000.
- On the Help menu, click About Microsoft Outlook.
- Click Security Info.
- If you see CipherStrength40bits or Cipher Strength 56 bits under MicrosoftOutlook2000, you are using 40-bit or 56-bit encryption.
If you see CipherStrength128bits under MicrosoftOutlook2000, you are using 128-bit encryption and should not use this update. See Updated 128-Bit Encryption Provider for Outlook 2000 SR-1 for the correct update. - Click OK twice to return to Outlook 2000.
This update requires that you have installed Outlook 2000 SR-1 and that you are using either 40-bit or 56-bit security encryption.
