A cross-site scripting and spoofing vulnerability exists in FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions. This update fixes that vulnerability.

• This update applies to the following product: FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft (both x86 and x64 versions)

: Before you install the security patch, make sure that you meet both of the following conditions:

• Log on to your computer with an account that has administrative permissions.
• Stop all services that are related to FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions. If you do not stop all services that are related to FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions, or if the file that you want to update is in use, you are prompted to restart your computer after you install the security patch

If you have FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions from Microsoft, do the following:

• Install Security Update for FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions (KB911831). To do this, follow these steps:

1. Download the .exe file by clicking on the Download button at the top of the page, and then save the file to your hard disk drive.
2. It is recommended that you quit any programs you are running.


3. In Windows Explorer, double-click the .exe file that you saved to your hard disk drive, and follow the instructions on the screen.
