A security vulnerability exists in Excel Services in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 that could allow arbitrary code to run when a maliciously modified file is opened on the server. This update resolves that vulnerability.

- This update applies to the following product: Excel Services in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007
This update applies to 32-bit versions of SharePoint Server. If you are using a 64-bit version, do not install this update. Instead, install:
- The update will install properly if either of the following are true:
- The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Service Pack 1 (SP1) is currently installed.
- The 2007 Microsoft Office Servers Service Pack 1 (SP1) is not currently installed.
- Supported Windows Installer Version: Windows Installer 3.1 or greater
- Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 includes Windows Installer 3.1. Windows Installer 3.1 is also available as a separate download at the following location:
