Office XP Tool: Global IME (Traditional Chinese) |
Use the Microsoft Global Input Method Editor for Office XP (Traditional Chinese) to input Traditional Chinese text in your documents, worksheets, presentations, mail messages, publications, and Web pages.
If you used a Global IME (Input Method Editor) 5.02 with a previous version of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Internet Explorer, or Microsoft Outlook® Express, it will not work after you have installed Office XP. You will need to download this updated version.
IMPORTANT This download is the Microsoft Office version of the Global IME (Traditional Chinese) IME. Microsoft Windows® also contains a version of this IME. If you are running Microsoft Windows® 2000, Microsoft Windows® XP, or Microsoft Windows® Server 2003, you do not need to download the Global IME (Traditional Chinese). We recommend that you use the Windows version of this IME instead.
For information about using Windows IMEs, see Windows Help.
Note Support is not available for the Windows IMEs in Windows Server 2003 or for future Windows 2000 or Windows XP Service Packs.
Use the Microsoft Global Input Method Editor for Office XP (Traditional Chinese) to input Traditional Chinese text in your documents, worksheets, presentations, mail messages, publications, and Web pages. After you have installed the Global IME, you just start your Office XP program, select Traditional Chinese from the Language bar, and you can type Traditional Chinese, regardless of the language version of Office XP or the operating system you are using.
Note This download also works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later and Outlook Express 5.0 or later. However, if you are using Microsoft Windows® 2000 and Internet Explorer 5.5, you must install the latest Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack.
You can also use the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Simplified Chinese), the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Korean), and the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Japanese).
Before you install
Before you install the Global IME for Office XP, do the following:
- Install Office XP (any language version).
- If you have not installed a Global IME before, install the Speech or the Handwriting feature in the Office XP installation (Office Shared Features, Alternate User Input.)
- If you are not running Windows 2000 AND you are not running a Traditional Chinese language version of the operating system, install the Office XP Tool: Traditional Chinese Language Pack.
You must be logged on to your computer as a member of the Administrators group to install the Global IME.
