Download this add-in for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 that provides added functionality to OLAP Manager.

SQL Server 7.0 OLAP Services users can benefit from the functionality made available in the OLAP Manager Add-In Kit and the Data Transformation Services (DTS) Task Kit 1.

The Add-In Kit for OLAP Manager provides functionality that enables you to perform tasks that previously required custom programming using Decision Support Objects (DSO). This kit includes the following add-ins:


  • Archiving and restoring databases. Archives and restores OLAP Services databases from within the OLAP Manager. This utility also enables databases to be archived from one server and restored to another.

  • Calculated Members Manager. Manages calculated members in virtual cubes.

  • Copying and pasting objects. Uses copying and pasting functionality to more easily manage objects within the OLAP Manager tree view (metadata movement).

Note: SQL Server 7.0, including SQL Server Enterprise Manager and the OLAP Manager, must be installed in order to use the Add-In Kit.

Installation notes:


  • This downloadable Add-in Kit was designed and intended for use on systems running SQL Server 7.0 OLAP or SQL Server 7.0 OLAP Service Pack 1. For SQL Server 7.0 OLAP Service Packs 2 and 3, use the kit that is included with the respective service pack. You can find the Addins.exe file in the Install directory.

  • These add-ins run only on Intel-based systems. They must be installed by a user logged on as a member of both the OLAP Administrators group and the Administrators group in Microsoft Windows NT® version 4.0 or Microsoft Windows® 2000.

  • These add-ins are provided in English only, but will function properly if installed in non-English systems.

  • The three add-ins installed by the OLAP Services Add-In Kit are available on the shortcut menus of the appropriate objects within OLAP Manager.

  • By default, AddinsReadMe.txt is installed in the Help subfolder of the OLAP Services folder.
