Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server Common Criteria Administrator Guide |
This document is the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server Evaluated Configuration Administrator’s Guide that was used in the completion of the Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server Common Criteria Evaluation.
This guide provides sufficient guidance to allow an administrator to securely operate Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server in accordance with the requirements stated in the Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server Common Criteria (CC) Security Target (ST). It focuses on describing how to administer the Certificate Services component (i.e., application) running over the Windows Server 2003 operating system. The Windows Server 2003 Common Criteria Evaluated Configuration Administrator’s Guide for the operating system must be used together with this document to satisfy the requirements assigned to the Information Technology (IT) Environment in the Certificate Server ST.
The Certificate Server CC ST provides a set of security requirements taken from the Certificate Issuing and Management Components (CIMC) Security Level 3 Protection Profile (PP), Version 1.0, October 31, 2001. Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server was evaluated against the Certificate Server ST and found to satisfy the ST requirements.
This guide is targeted at the individuals assigned to the authorized administrative roles defined for the Certificate Server and provides a description of how to perform the security functions associated with these roles to securely operate the Certificate Server in accordance with the requirements in the Certificate Server ST.
This guide assumes that individuals assigned to the authorized administrative roles defined for the Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server are familiar with the security features of the Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server product and Windows Server 2003 operating system. To administer a Windows Server 2003 Certificate Server, one should also be familiar with relevant product documentation such as the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Resource and Deployment Kits.
