  • This update to the Guidance Automation Extensions - February 2008 Release addresses the following issues:
    Registering and Using Guidance Packages on the Visual Studio Experimental Hive
    Registering and/or using a guidance package in the Visual Studio Experimental hive fails when Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 is installed. This is now fixed.
    Regular Expression Evaluation Enhancements
    When an operation (or a message) was created, the duration of the creation task was directly proportional (and much greater than linear) to the length of the operation name. This update offers a performance improvement. See Additional Information section.

    Installation Instructions


    1. Click the ‘Download’ button to commence the download.

    2. Once the download dialog appears, do one of the following:

      1. To start the installation immediately, click Open or Run this program from its current location.

      2. To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save or Save this program to disk. Once you are ready to install Guidance Automation Extensions for Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 Update (GAXP1409), double-click on the saved file.

    3. Follow the instructions in the installer program, including accepting the End User Licensing Agreement.
