Group Chat is a server role of Lync Server 2010, which enables persistent topic-based chat rooms.
The Group Chat feature lets organizations set up searchable, topic-based chat rooms that persist over time, allowing geographically distributed teams to better collaborate with one another while preserving organizational knowledge.

Installation Instructions
- Download ServerSetup.exe.
- Start ServerSetup.exe.
- If prompted, click Yes to install the UCMA 3.0 Core Redist.
- On the Welcome page, click Next.
- On the End-User License Agreement page, review the agreement and, to accept the terms and continue with the installation, click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
- On the Customer Information page, enter the information, and click Next.
- On the Install Location page, leave the default location or specify a different location, and then click Next.
- On the Select the features you want to install page, confirm the features and to be installed and click Next.
- On the Confirm Installation page, click Next to begin the installation.
- When the installation is complete, on the Install Complete page, click Close to exit the wizard.
