SYMPTOMS
- Get latest version operation on solution doesn't open web sites for Team Foundation Server
- Open From SCC of web project solution where solution and project are in same folder creates an extra local folder level
- Command-line "Get" and local disk open of Web project solutions in the Visual Studio IDE causes a Web project folder to move
CAUSE
- Performing a "Get" in Visual Studio on a solution that has just had a web project added to it elsewhere causes the Web project folder to show up in Solution Explorer but not the Web project’s contents.
- Performing an "Open From Source Control" of a solution where the solution file resides in the same directory as a Web project in that solution Visual Studio incorrectly creates a directory one level below the local folder selected by the user and moves the web project there.
- Performing a "Get" from the command line or Source Control Explorer of a solution containing a Web project where the Web project resides on the server somewhere other than one level below the solution and you then open the solution locally from disk, you will encounter issues. Specifically, VS will remap the web project to a local folder one level beneath the solution and will then perform a Get to move the files from the location you fetched them to this new location.
