SharePoint Workflow Manager is the workflow engine that powers the SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform.
SharePoint Workflow Manager is the workflow engine that powers the SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform. It is the replacement for Microsoft Workflow Manager 1.0 and Service Bus 1.1 for Windows Server when used with SharePoint Server products.
SharePoint Server customers should use SharePoint Workflow Manager for any new Workflow Manager installations, and replace previous Microsoft Workflow Manager installations with SharePoint Workflow Manager.

SharePoint Workflow Manager is supported when used with the following SharePoint Server products:
- SharePoint Server 2013
- SharePoint Server 2016
- SharePoint Server 2019
- SharePoint Server Subscription Edition
SharePoint Workflow Manager is only supported when used for SharePoint 2013 Workflows. It is not supported for non-SharePoint Server scenarios.
Supported database server versions:
- SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 4
- SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 3
- SQL Server 2016
- SQL Server 2017
- SQL Server 2019
- SQL Server 2022
If you're using SQL Server 2016 or later, you must change the database compatibility mode of the databases to version 120. For more information, see Description of the Cumulative Update 5 for Workflow Manager 1.0.
Supported .NET Framework versions:
- .NET Framework 4.6.2 or higher
Supported Azure Service Fabric runtime versions:
- 9.1 CU2 (9.1.1583.9590) or higher
