Legacy Update: Get back online, activate, and install updates on your legacy Windows PC

Existing customers of Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 and Microsoft Content Management Server 2002 can take advantage of the Prescriptive Achitectural Guidance, the Microsoft Solution for Internet Business (MSIB) Runtime Library, and the MSIB Solution Site in the MSIB Accelerator 2.1.

• The MSIB Accelerator contains the following:
  
  
  • MSIB Prescriptive Architecture Guidance (PAG). Provides best practices on planning, developing, deploying, and managing your Internet business solution. You have the option to install only this documentation.
  • MSIB Runtime Library. Includes a number of server controls and Microsoft .NET classes. It integrates Commerce Server and MCMS functionality and workflows to provide support for rich (MCMS-managed) product pages, targeted content, search, and extended e-commerce capabilities.
  • MSIB Solution Site. Offers a fully functional ASP.NET production-quality site that you can extend and customize as you need.

• To install the MSIB Accelerator:
  
  1. Download the MSIB Accelerator (msib21.exe) with the link on this page.
  2. On your computer, run msib21.exe and extract its contents to c:\MSIBsetup\.
  3. Run c:\MSIBsetup\setup.exe, and use the Documentation Only optionto extract the PAG documents to c:\MSIB21docs\.
  4. Click the Start button and choose Programs, then Microsoft Solution for Internet Business 2.1, and then Product Documentation.
  5. Double-click MSIB v2.1 Single Server Deployment.doc and follow the instructions for installing Commerce Server, Content Management Server, and the MSIB Accelerator.
