Money Plus Sunset Home and Business is designed to be a replacement for expired versions of Money Plus Home and Business. Note: The Money Plus Sunset versions come with online self-help only. See Overview section for more info.

  • All versions of Money Plus sold at retail and online, required users to perform an “Online Activation” step in order to keep using the product, even if online services had already expired. Online Activation was also required for every machine onto which Money Plus was installed. Now that Money Plus is no longer available for purchase, the online activation step will eventually become unnecessary and unsupported. This Money Plus Sunset package is targeted at removing the activation dependency. There are two versions of Money Plus Sunset. The Money Plus Sunset Deluxe version is meant to replace Premium, Deluxe, and Essentials versions of Money Plus. The Money Plus Sunset Home and Business version is meant to replace Money Plus Home and Business. Please note that Money Plus Sunset versions come preconfigured with:• No online services (no online quotes, no bill payment, no statement downloads initiated by Money, no data sync with MSN Money online services, etc…)• No support services (support services are limited to online self-help only, see Money Plus Sunset EULA and Microsoft’s Support Lifecycle pages for more details)• No need to activate the product

Installation Instructions

  • If your installation of Money Plus currently has active online services, or if your installation of Money Plus is still covered by support services according to its EULA , we recommend that you NOT upgrade to this version of Money Plus Sunset. After the date of 1/31/2011, (the projected last date for any and all online services and all product support services for all versions of Money), we recommend everyone who is still using Money upgrade to a Money Plus Sunset version. For users whose online services have already expired and who are willing to rely only on online self-help for support services, you may choose to upgrade to this Money Plus Sunset version before 1/31/2011 in order to avoid any future reactivation dependency. If you install this Money Plus Sunset package, it is recommended that you keep a safe copy of your original Money Plus software, (Deluxe, Premium, Essentials, or Home and Business), a copy of your most recent activation key, and a copy of this Money Plus Sunset package. If you use Windows Live ID to secure your Money data file, it is recommended that you switch to Money’s standard password authentication method to ensure support going forward. If you ever need to open a Money data file which uses Windows Live ID and online authentication is no longer supported, you will need to open the Money data file using offline authentication, which means that you’ll have to use the exact password that was valid at the time that file was last opened in Money. The Help content for Microsoft Money Plus Sunset is shared with earlier versions of Microsoft Money, and as such includes references to online services not supported in Microsoft Money Plus Sunset versions.
