Microsoft Unified Communications Enhanced Presence Schemas for Microsoft Lync Server 2010 consists of the technical documentation for the enhanced presence support by Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and Microsoft Lync 2010 as well as the commonly used XML Schema Definition (XSD) files of the enhanced presence category schemas defined and used by Lync 2010.

The enclosed document covers the following subjects about programming enhanced presence:

• The underlying presence infrastructure of Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and XML-based enhanced presence data model
• General practices to program with the enhanced presence features
• The enhanced presence data defined and used by Microsoft Lync 2010
• The application behaviors of the enhanced presence features supported by Lync

The accompanying XSD files can be used to serialize or desierialize the Lync-supported enhanced presence category instances.
