Security Update for Office 2003: WordPerfect 5.x Converter (KB873378) |
A vulnerability could allow arbitrary code to run when the system uses the converter to open a maliciously crafted document. The update resolves this vulnerability so that the files that the converter opens are handled appropriately.

- This update applies to the following product: Microsoft Office 2003
- Microsoft Windows Installer version 2.0 or later. Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 and Microsoft Windows XP include this version of the Windows Installer. Otherwise, the latest version of Windows Installer is available as a separate download at the following locations:

Installation instructions
If you have Microsoft Office 2003, do the following:
- Install Security Update for Office 2003: WordPerfect 5.x Converter (KB873378). To do this, follow these steps:

Download the .exe file by clicking on the Download button at the top of the page, and then save the file to your hard disk drive.
- office2003-kb873378-fullfile-enu.exe : You might need to provide the installation source during patch installation if you have previously updated your product.
- It is recommended that you quit any programs you are running.
- In Windows Explorer, double-click the .exe file that you saved to your hard disk drive, and follow the instructions on the screen.
