“Security and the Software Development Lifecycle: Secure at the Source” is the third part of an independent research report that demonstrates how securing software early in the application development cycle increases security and most importantly drives down the severity and cost of vulnerability incidents.

Aberdeen Group, an IT sector analyst firm, has published “Securing Your Applications: Three Ways to Play” - a three-part research report on application security. In part three, “Security and the Software Development Lifecycle: Secure at the Source”, Aberdeen leverages the simplified version of the Microsoft Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) as a yardstick for measuring current practices. It demonstrates how securing software early in the application development cycle increases security and most importantly drives down the severity and cost of vulnerability incidents while generating a stronger Return On Investment than other application security approaches. Download the study to learn more about the report’s key findings.
