The Presence Controls for Microsoft Office Communicator use the automation interfaces of Communicator to show presence information using Microsoft Office Live Communications Server.

The Presence Controls are designed to provide presence information and real time collaboration options to Microsoft Windows Forms, Web Forms and GUI applications that are based on the Microsoft Win32 application programming interface. The controls provide developers of these applications with the ability to drag-and-drop the control from the toolbox in Visual Studio onto applications and provide access to the capabilities of Communicator in an easy to incorporate manner.

Note:

  • You must install Visual Studio 2003 to build the controls and the sample applications
  • There is no support for this sample code

Installation Instructions

To install this download:

  1. Download the file by clicking the Download button (above) and saving the file to your hard disk.
  2. Double-click the PresenceControls.msi program file on your hard disk to begin installation.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
To remove this download, delete the file PresenceControls.msi:
  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select Presence Controls for Office Communicator and then click Remove or Add/Remove. If a dialog box appears, follow the instructions to remove the program.

Click Yes or OK to confirm that you want to remove the program.
