• This download and Microsoft R Open are both required for using SQL Server R Services and Microsoft R Server.
  Important:To use SQL Server R Services you must also enable the feature, Advanced Analytics Extensions in SQL Server 2016. For more information, see SQL Server 2016 Books Online.

• You must uninstall any previous versions of Revolution R Open or Revolution R Enterprise before installing these downloads.
  It is important that you install compatible versions of Revolution R Enterprise and Microsoft R Open. If you connect to an instance of SQL Server 2016 that has Advanced Analytics Extensions enabled, your version of Microsoft R Open and Revolution R Enterprise must also be compatible with the version supported by the server.
  1. If you have not already downloaded and installed Microsoft R Open, do so now.
  2. Click Download and install Revolution-R-Enterprise-Node-SQL-8.0.1-Windows.exe. This download is required for both client and server installs.
  3. Click Run to install, and follow-the on-screen prompts.
  4. If you are installing the R components on an instance of SQL Server 2016, when installation is complete, run the post-installation scripts described in the following section.
  Post-installation configuration on the serverIf you installed the Advanced Analytics Extensions on SQL Server 2016 RC0 using the default instance name (MSSQLSERVER), you must follow these additional steps on the server computer to enable R connectivity.
