Microsoft Application Request Routing (ARR) 3 for IIS is a proxy based routing module that forwards HTTP requests to application servers based on HTTP headers and server variables, and load balance algorithms.

ARR Version 3 is an incremental release that includes all of the features from Version 2, and adds the following features:
ARR version 3 and previous released cannot be installed side-by-side.

IMPORTANT - Changes in this release
- Windows 10 Support - It is now possible to install ARR 3 on Windows 10 with this release
- Web Farm Framework 1.1 is no longer required, Application Request Routing no longer has a dependency on Web Farm Framework 1.1
- Changes to load balancing algorithms available. The following algorithms have been REMOVED from Application Request Routing:
- Weighted Total Traffic
- Least Current Request
- Least Response Time
- Buffering on SignalR responses is now disabled.
- Logging improvements made to help diagnose why requests failed with Status Code 502.3
- This release also incorporates fixes in KB3016062

Installation Instructions
ARR is dependent on several components:
Do not attempt to install this package directly due to this dependency. To install ARR and all its components in the appropriate order, use the Microsoft Web Platform Installer (http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx) and search for ARR within it.
