System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library |
The System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library installs and updates the Windows PowerShell module for System Center Configuration Manager.
- The System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library lets you manage a Configuration Manager hierarchy by using Windows PowerShell cmdlets and scripts. Microsoft regularly updates the cmdlets for Configuration Manager. The System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library checks for library updates on a daily basis, and notifies you to download the updated library.
The following versions of Configuration Manager are supported in this release:- System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP2
- System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager SP1
- System Center Configuration Manager current branch v1511 and v1602 only

To use the System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library, you must install the following:- Windows PowerShell 3.0
- a supported System Center Configuration Manager console
Installation Instructions
- To install the System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library
- Download ConfigMgr2012PowerShellCmdlets.msi from the Microsoft Download Center.
- After the download completes, double-click ConfigMgr2012PowerShellCmdlets.msi to run the setup wizard.
- Follow the instructions in the setup wizard to install the System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library.
Using the System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library
You can run Configuration Manager cmdlets and scripts by using the Configuration Manager console or by using a Windows PowerShell session. When you run Configuration Manager cmdlets by using the Configuration Manager console, your session runs in the context of the site.
To start a Windows PowerShell session from the Configuration Manager console- In the Configuration Manager console, click the drop down menu.
