The Windows Phone 8.1 Update Emulators package adds additional emulator images to an existing installation of Visual Studio 2015 or Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 or later. With this update installed, you can create and test apps that will run on devices that have Windows Phone 8.1 Update.
The Windows Phone 8.1 Update Emulators package adds the following to an existing installation of Visual Studio 2015 or Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 or later:
- Windows Phone SDK 8.1 Update
- New Windows Phone Emulator 8.1 Update WVGA 4 inch
- New Windows Phone Emulator 8.1 Update WVGA 4 inch 512MB
- New Windows Phone Emulator 8.1 Update WXGA 4.5 inch
- New Windows Phone Emulator 8.1 Update qHD 5 inch
- New Windows Phone Emulator 8.1 Update 720p 4.7 inch
- New Windows Phone Emulator 8.1 Update 1080p 5.5 inch
- New Windows Phone Emulator 8.1 Update 1080p 6 inch

Installation Instructions
Ensure that you have Visual Studio 2015 or Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 or later installed. Click the Download button for WindowsPhone81SDKUpdate1.exe, then select the option to Run, and follow the instructions that appear.
