  • To assess and validate the capacity planning requirements of a Lync Server 2013 deployment, we recommend that you perform a stress testing exercise using The Lync Server 2013 Stress and Performance Tool (LSS).

LSS is a toolset that you can use to perform a stress test of a design that will be deployed on a target deployment infrastructure (server, storage, and network) based on your specific usage pattern. The LSS can simulate all Lync Server workloads or just specific workloads, such as instant messaging (IM) and presence, application sharing, audio conferencing, and mobility, with a particular scale target. This test plan will take you through the steps required to plan and conduct a Lync Server 2013 stress testing exercise, and it will help you analyze the results in order to conclude whether the initial capacity plan is sound or requires adjustment.
