Product Documentation for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 for firewall and proxy restricted environments |
The Microsoft SQL Server 2012 setup installs only the Help Viewer and related components for managing Help settings. Setup does not directly install any documentation. All of the SQL Server documentation is available online. For more information on installing SQL Server product documentation behind a firewall, see the Overview and Instructions sections below.
- Users who want a local help experience can download the documentation in one of two ways after using SQL Server Setup to install the help viewer and related components:
For systems that are behind a firewall or proxy and have no access to the Internet go to a computer that has an internet connection and download the self-extracting EXE package on this page that contains the product documentation. Follow the instructions at the bottom of this page to extract the documentation and then use Help Library Manager to add the documentation to your local help collections.
For systems that have an Internet connection you do not need to use this download. Instead, launch Help Library Manager to configure the Help Viewer to use local help and download the Help collections. For more information about using the Help Library Manager to configure help options and download content, see Adding and Removing Help Collections.
