Installation Instructions

  1. To start the download, click the Download button and then do one of the following, or select another language from Change Language and then click Change.
  • Click Run to start the file extraction immediately.
  • Click Save to copy the download to your computer for installation later.
  • Open a command prompt to the directory where you extracted files from the download package.
  • 3. At the command prompt type mpsyschk.exe to run the Update Compatibility Assessment Tool. The tool will return one of the following two responses:
    • MPSystemStateCheck: PASS

      If you receive a PASS result, it means that your computer has no compatibility issues with security update 977165.
    • MPSystemStateCheck: FAIL

      If you receive a FAIL result, it means that security update 977165 cannot be installed because of a problem on your computer. Proceeding with installation of the update could prevent your system from starting successfully. For more information, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/security/updates/015
